Jolly LLB is back – Meet Akshay Kumar as 'Jolly' good fellow!

Akshay Kumar revealed the official poster of his upcoming courtroom dramedy, tweeting:

“‪And here is the first look of #JollyLLB2 as promised. Ready to meet this Jolly good fellow on 10th Feb. 2017 ”

In Jolly LLB 2, Akshay Kumar essays the role of a lawyer for the first time in his career, which spans over 120 films.The poster screams of effortless simplicity and indicates the baby steps that the common man takes in order to survive in the modern-day world of fierce competition. It appears from the poster that Kumar’s character, a lawyer named Jolly, is exactly that – a jolly and happy-go-lucky, content common man.

He is seen donning a white shirt, black trousers and sport shoes, as he happily rides his scooter with a tiffin box between his feet. What’s more, he looks straight into camera with a witty grin – he obviously seems to know something we don’t know or certainly has something mischief up his sleeve!

A sequel to the 2013 film Jolly LLB, which starred Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani as two lawyers fighting the case of underpaid labourers, Jolly LLB 2 also stars Saurabh Shukla, who will reprise the role of Justice Surendralal Tripathi, Annu Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Inaamulhaq and Manav Kaul. Arshad Warsi will also make a cameo appearance in the film.

Set in Lucknow, Jolly LLB 2 is the story of the blunt, abrasive and yet oddly compassionate Jagdishwar Mishra, aka Jolly (Akshay Kumar), a small-time, struggling lawyer who has moved from Kanpur to the city of Nawabs to pursue his dream of becoming a big-time lawyer.

A hustler by nature, Jolly survives by fighting petty cases and using every tactic under the sun to make a quick buck and earn a decent living. Having spent years in the chaotic and dingy court corridors Jolly is looking out for an opportunity that could turn the tide in his favor and help him achieve his dream of becoming a full-fledged Lawyer with a chamber.

When faced with the glimpse of such an opportunity, Jolly jumps at the chance and in the bargain commits an innocent mistake with irreversible consequences that makes him ready for a big fight with the ruthless advocate Mathur.

Set against the backdrop of the erstwhile city of the Royals, Jolly LLB 2 is a satire about an underdog attempting to catapult himself to the top of the legal food chain. Anarchy, mayhem and underhandedness, all expressed through wit and a vein of humor, form the cornerstones of this courtroom tale. Get set to welcome Jolly and his own inimitable ways that will not only leave a smile on your face but will also make you look at society and system through a very subtle satirical filter
