Back in March of 2012, director Sujoy Ghosh announced that he intended to develop Kahaani into a series. The original film, which had released in 2012, did really well and helped solidify Vidya Balan as a powerful actress. Ghosh had shared that he was inspired by Satyajit Ray’s Feluda detective series and wanted to continue the stories of Vidya Bagchi (i.e. the main character played by Vidya Balan). Although Kahaani 2 is not a sequel, per say, it is a new installment in the series. The movie is produced by Kushal Kantilal Gada, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada and Sujoy Ghosh. The screenplay and direction is by Sujoy Ghosh, with the film presented by Jayantilal Gada (pen). You can catch the film in theaters 2nd December 2016 and can catch the first dialogue promo below!
