India’s hottest dance show – ConfiDance by Shiamak Davar just turned up the heat in the heart of the cool and crisp New York City. A dance show that takes place in annually in multiple cities around the world witnessed packed houses in The Big Apple. Headed by esteemed instructors Anitha Prakash and Lester Fernandes, the uniquely talented students of the Shiamak Davar Dance Academy grooved to an assortment of dance forms including Contemporary, Bollywood Jazz and Hip Hop. The audience was treated to a delightful display of dance by nearly 70 dancers . The show is conceptualized in India by Shiamak and then is staged in multiple cities globally by his dance teams in each of those cities.
Along with showcasing their talent, over 70 students of Shiamak USA took audiences’ breaths away with noble thought process. Using various dance forms, the team touched on the subject of child labor, social isolation, women empowerment and the pressures of the fast paced modern lifestyle. The team not only strives to teach both children and adults dance as a form of entertainment but also a form of expression and a means to educate audiences across the globe.
“People come to my classes to take up dance as a hobby. But amongst them, a lot of them have the talent to grow and take dance more seriously. Developing dance teams in each of these cities is an effort towards this, so they can learn styles and technique intensively by my core faculty. The ConfiDance Show helps them understand how performing on stage works and gives them a greater insight into dance and the energy of being in front of a live audience. Parents, family and friends also get a chance to see how well they are progressing with the training.”

The show in New York had performers from across Manhattan, Queens, Hicksville, Edison, Jersey City ,Paramus ,Short Hills, Edgewater and Parsippany , and are taught by Lester Fernandes and Anitha Prakash.

A noble effort by Shiamak Davar and his team, ConfiDance continues to act as the cocoon which transforms a caterpillar into a free flowing butterfly.
