Navin Kundra is one artist who you can’t box into any particular genre. He is constantly evolving and innovating with the times. Recently, the UK star released a mix of the title track of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and the song Pillowtalk. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a film directed by Karan Johar starring Aishwarya Rai, Ranbir Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma. The original track is sung by Arijit Singh, music by Pritam, and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Pillowtalk is a song off of Zayn Malik’s “Mind of Mine” album. Zayn sang it and also was a co-writer for the track alongside Levi Lennox, Anthony Hannides, Michael Hannides, and Joe Garrett. Navin shared that he fell in love with the track instantly and said he collaborated on it with his good friend Kartik Udhas. It is definitely a perfect mix!
Regarding how the track came to be, Navin said, “I recently heard the title track from “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” and it sparked something deep in me musically and emotionally. It’s a beautiful composition and the lyrics are to die for. My friend and super talented musician/producer Kartik Udhas asked if I would be up collaborating with him on this cover and I instantly said yes! We genuinely poured every ounce of passion into this song and I truly hope you feel it. In complete contrast to the urban dance beats of my new single ‘Tear It Up’, I want you all to know that I haven’t forgotten about music for the soul…enjoy!”
