'Airlift' breakthrough actress Feryna Wazheir takes the big leap!

The monstrous box office success of Airlift has brought prosperity to the entire team, including breakout star Feryna Wazheir, who grabbed the industry’s attention and stole the audience’s hearts through her performance as a vulnerable Kuwaiti woman on the run from Saddam’s army in the 2016 hit film.

Since then, the actress has been approached by several key filmmakers, both from down South and in Bollywood, and is likely to make some big announcements soon. But for now, Feryna is basking in the glory of the appreciation she has received from her fans in the Middle East and in India for her very first ad film, which has now gone viral.

Seen in a demure Indian avatar in the ad, Feryna has become the talk of the town. The ad, which was launched around the festival of Eid and celebrates love and food, also stars Bollywood hunk Kunal Kapoor and was helmed by ace ad film director Shwetabh Varma.

Says Feryna,

“I’ve grown up speaking Urdu and Hindi. After Airlift, a lot of people think that I am actually a Kuwaiti. Fortunately, the traditional look in the Eid ad has managed to change that image.”
