Bollywood loses a comic legend. RIP Razak Khan!

In sad news, actor Razak Khan, who is well-known for playing comic roles in Bollywood, passed away earlier today (June 1, 2016).  He suffered a cardiac arrest (i.e. a heart attack) at 12:30 am and was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Bandra.  Sadly, he was declared dead on arrival.  Razak’s funeral will be held tomorrow in Mumbai after 4 pm.  His son Azad Khan is expected to fly in from Croatia to attend and complete Razak’s last rites.

Razak debuted in 1993’s Roopa Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and quickly became a popular comic in ’90s movies – especially with those starring Govinda.  Even if Razak had a small role in a movie, he left a big impact.  While he may not be as well known as actors like Johnny Lever when it comes to comedy, he has still made a mark in cinema.  In fact, Razak acted in around 90 movies in Bollywood including hits like Anari No. 1, Badshaah, Hello Brother, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Ishq, Joru Ka Ghulam, the Kya Kool Hain Hum movies, and so many more.

Besides the nearly 90 Bollywood films he was a part off, Razak also did well on television – appearing on comedy shows like Kapil Sharma’s “Comedy Nights With Kapil.” Below, I have included some of his comic moments in cinema, as he would want us to remember him with a smile on our faces.

RIP Razak Khan. Thank you for making us laugh. You will be missed.
