Jacqueline Fernandez goes out of her way to make a difference

The ever so charming Jacqueline Fernandez is not just a pretty face but someone with a big heart as well. She was recently present at Padappai Town in Chennai on April 9th for #JacquelineBuilds.

Jacqueline Builds is an initiative taken by Habitat For Humanity India in collaboration with Jacqueline for Chennai rehabilitation. Jacqueline has actively raised funds to build homes for the flood victims. During this event, Jacqueline interacted with the families of Tamil Nadu flood victims.

On taking up this initiative that is so close to her heart Jacqueline reveals,

“I was heart-broken to see the images of the flood on TV. I didn’t want to look at them, feel sorry, and leave it at that. I wanted to go out there and support the cause of those without a home anymore. I’ve been lucky to be associated with Habitat For Humanity that allowed me to do something for the people of Tamil Nadu.”

Jacqueline also urged other B-Town celebs to come forward to help her with this endeavor. Bollywood personalities including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Genelia Deshmukh, Tiger Shroff, and Remo D’Souza actively supported the cause. The biggest helping hand came from Hrithik Roshan who stepped up to rehabilitate an entire family by sponsoring to build a house for them.

While Chennai has received aid from celebrities, it is not only celebs lending their support. Students from Sacred Heart School, Kalyan, went all the way from Mumbai to Chennai to support Jacqueline Builds and they were also the youngest volunteers there!
