It is so unreal that yet another one of our legendary musicians has passed away so soon! At only 57 years old, singer Prince has passed away. Prince pioneered “the Minneapolis sound” and revolutionized how music was made. Prince managed to combine various genres seamlessly into his music from rock, R&B, soul, funk, and hip hop, to disco, psychedelia, jazz, and pop! Many thought that no music can be sold without a solid bass-line, but he broke the norm and released many tracks that were not dependent on that sound. Prince was not only known as an innovator in the world of music, but also was well respected for his range (E2 lowest to B6 highest) and style. Prince influenced so many contemporary musicians around the world. It really is a great loss to the world of music.

Prince’s popularity is easily seen when one recognizes that he sold over 100 million records worldwide! This feat made him one of the best-selling artists of all time! His music also garnered him 7 Grammy Awards, 1 Golden Globe award, and 1 Academy Award. As soon as he qualified in 2004, Prince was immediately inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! The prestigious Rolling Stone magazine listed Prince in their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time at number 27. However, in the minds of his fans, he is definitely at number 1!
