The Ahmedabad Express gets colorful 'Rang Barse' style this Holi!

The team of Ahmedabad Express (owned by Nandish Singh, Mrunal Jain and Gaurav Aggarwal) of Frooti BCL Season 2  talk on all things Holi – from their favorite song to their memories of Holi growing up!

Aakanksha Singh:
I used to dance on the song – Ja re hat natkhat from the film Navrang, so it goes without saying that is also my favorite Holi song. When I was a kid I used to form tolis (groups) with my friend and go to our neighbors to wish them and play. We used to welcome the guests with colorful buckets, eating gujiyas and mathris and dancing. It was all fun. Now I don’t play Holi anymore, but I enjoy watching others plays. I just put gulal tika.

Anand Suryavanshi:
My all-time favorite Holi song is Rang barse. Holi celebration is incomplete without this song. My two most memorable Holi events were when I shot it for my serial, Mamta and Grihasti. I play Holi very rarely in real life. The only two times I have played is while shooting. My co-stars and my production team made it special on those two occasions. Also, I was joined by my daughter for both these times and that it made it even more special for me.

Gaurav Aggarwal-

Rang barse is my favorite Holi song. It is played at every Holi party I have been to and I can’t stop myself from dancing to every time it is played. My most memorable Holi experience was a few years ago, when I went to a party hosted by a dear friend in Juhu. It was very special as all my friends got together after a long time. We re-lived memories from the past and played Holi all day long. I would love to do that again sometime. JU

My most memorable Holi is when I played with my cousins on the terrace of our bungalow with those polythene water bags. I was 6 or 8 then. As for songs, my favorite Holi number is Ang se ang lagaana from the film Darr. I enjoy SRK’s performance in that scene around which the song is shot!

Tinaa Dattaa-
My favorite Holi song is Balam pichkari because it is full of masti, excitement and fun. My most memorable Holi was when I was a kid –  I used to play with colors and water with my friends and eat sweets made by my mom, specially made on that day!

My favorite Holi song is Holi khele Raghuveera from Baghban movie; it is one of the best Holi song of Amitabh Bachchan after Rang barse. My most memorable Holi were with my school friends. We all used to start playing three days before Holi by dancing and throwing water balloons on each other.

Mayuresh Wadkar-

My favorite Holi songs are Rang barse and Do me a favour let’s play Holi. There are lots of sweet memories of Holi that I can’t put in words.

Shardul Pandit-
My favorite Holi song is Balam pichkari. When I was in Dubai and a radio host, we had loads of big Holi parties lined up for our listeners. Once I was performing there, I had my friends (even those working for rival radio channels) and parents visiting me. I danced and partied with various nationalities and people from different countries. It was so much of fun.

Kapil Nirmal-

I keep my self away from this festival, however I like the idea of a color filled life!
Munisha Khatwani

My favorite Holi song is Do me a favor let’s play Holi. I really enjoy dancing to this track when it is Holi. My most memorable memories of the day goes back a long way in Mumbai – it wax my first Holi party with all my friends. It was special as before that there was a gap for a couple of years of not playing.

Vinod Singh

My favorite Holi song is Rang barse. I think it is everybody’s favorite song that everyone loves to groove on. My favorite Holi experience is when I went to my friends farm-house a couple of years ago. We tried bhaang for the first time and after that we were just laughing throughout the day. We also threw everyone in the pool and ate a lot. The bhaang made us so dizzy and happy that we were partying till late evening. The best fun was that we all were laughing at everything that the others were doing. We got to know about how whacked out we were only a few days late!
