#Holi: The Chennai Swaggers celebrate Holi in style!

Sunny Leone’s team, Chennai Swaggers of (Frotoi BCL Season 2 on colors)  talk all things Holi – from favorite song of the festival to their memories of it

Mayank Gandhi: My favorite Holi song is the evergreen Rang barse bheege chunarwali and I am looking to having a memorable time this year in as I’ll be in Bengaluru for a friend’s event. As for the unforgettable Holi that I ever had was last year when I was celebrating with my family in Delhi. I hardly get time to be with them because of  my tight shooting schedule.

Rafi Malik: Rang barse bheege chunarwali  is full-on masti type song. It is one of the most played songs
on Holi and when ever it’s played it brings out fun side of everyone. My most memorable moment of Holi was when I was a kid; I used to hate colors and avoid them, but when I started acting, I had to do a Holi scene. My view of the festival changed after that and became comfortable with it. I was hiding in my vanity van as my producer went around to put colors on each and every unit member. I was the last one, but when I was forced to go out, I was completely drenched in colors. Everyone from the unit had put colors on me and I couldn’t do anything about it.

Pooja Banerjee : I like the song, Holiya me ude re gulal by Ila Arun. I have been listening and dancing to this song since school days. So it’s deeply embedded in my memory as the most prominent Holi song. I remember play Holi in school; it was so innocent. In fact, we would start playing Holi the day before the main festival day. We all used to carry extra shirts to school that day as we all knew that we are bound to get colored with gulal. I also remember gorging on delicious gujiyas and laddoos made by mom at home.

Kunal Pant : I remember Rang barse bheege chunarwali being the only song played during Holi since my childhood. It should be made an official Holi anthem. My most memorable celebration was
during the time I was in FTII in Pune. There is this dare of consuming a special bhaang which I took part in. Initially it was all okay, but after sometime I was flying with  ideas and stories colliding in my head. I don’t for how many hours I was under  shower after that. I still laugh at that experience, but don’t want to try the bhaang dare any more.

Vishal Singh :  Rang barse bheege chunarwali  is my favourite song. I have been playing Holi in Mumbai since the past eight years, but I still miss the celebration I used to have with my school friends back there in Punjab. Those were carefree days with no worries of colours not going off. We used to go to everyone’s place, colour them and have delicious food cooked.

Abhishek Verma :  Holi khele Raghuveera is my favorite track as I am a big fan of Amitabh Bachchanji, who sang that song. The most memorable experience was when my dad used to bring Holi colors and balloons at home and my outing with friends when I was in school. Before I began enjoying the festival, I used to scared of Holi when I was around 7-8 years old. I still remember hiding under my bed. But I just love Holi now, it is after all a festival full of colurs and full of happiness. And I wish you all a very happy and a safe celebration.

Riya Deepsi : My favourite song has to be Rang barse bheege chunarwali as my family used to play it every Holi morning. We all enjoy this song a lot. My most memorable Holi experience was one that took place last year. It was special because I met some amazing people on that day and made

lovely friends. I was my first Holi party and I enjoyed myself to the fullest because of the amazing people who invited me, even though they didn’t know me too well.

Shaheer Sheikh :  I don’t have one, but two favorite Holi songs – Holi ke din dil khil jaate hain from Sholay and Rang barse bheege chunarwali from Silsila. When I was a kid, me and my friends used to go to the terrace with water balloons and throw it on people on the streets.

Shobhit Attray: Holi ke din dil khil jaate hain is my all-time Holi song. I remember playing Holi a few days early before the main day as a kid; I used to get my clothes wet and colored everyday and my mother would scold me but it didn’t stop me from doing masti. One day I happened to break my neighbours glass with a balloon and he came running to my house looking for me and I went into hiding under the bed like a thief. I miss those days.
