Television celebrities react to branding of rapist!

With the issue of rape and child abuse on the rise in India, politicians are shooting out ideas to contain the situation. Along with chemical castration and death penalty the idea of branding (tattooing) rapists who violate minors has come into the picture. Many including television celebrities have voiced their opinion on the same. Here is what they had to say:

Jason Tham

Well I feel the decision would make a difference as people would easily identify the rapist and take precautions instantly. In order for that to work, the mark should be made visible no matter how hard the rapist tries to hide it. It should be place on the neck, somewhere close to the face or eyes. This would alert people. This should be done and a law should be passed.

Ankit Gera

It’s a good idea to tattoo the rapist who rapes a minor. Social embarrassment may set an example to deter others from thinking of raping someone. But I also feel tattoo can be removed too so it may not be successful.

Amal Sehrawat

A shameless person who can rape a minor might not be affected by a tattoo. He should be castrated, even Madras High Court recommended.

Ssharad Malhotraa

A tattoo mark would help in recognizing the person for sure and cause him lot of social embarrassment. When you are publicly identified for your mistake it surely hurts. Why only for raping a minor every person who rapes anyone should be tattooed.

It’s a mental condition. It would help to identify the culprit. They should be also castrated and that would solve the problem at the root level.

Tinaa Dattaa

Tattoo would be a less of a punishment. The rapist photo should be published on the front page of newspaper everywhere so that person feel ashamed of himself.

A rapist should be tattooed with the caption “rapist” below the eyes so that would not only make identification easy but also make him feel the guilt

A rapist can’t be forgiven. He should be tattoed for sure at a prominent location say a forehead with blue color s onoe can easily notice him.

Tattooing a rapist is a good idea surely. The culprit should be publicly disgraced so it sets an example and others fear to do commit such acts. Crime rate has to be reduced with everyone’s collective initiative.

Tattooing a rapist is a good idea. For reformation the idea may work. We live in a society and we are affected by what others think especially while growing up. Example has to be set in society so others don’t dare to do.
