Yes, you’ve heard it right! The young British-Indian actor Dev Patel is believed to be getting geared up to be one of the key presenters at the Oscars this year. With his film repertoire and his abilities as a performer growing so rapidly, people are standing up and taking notice of his talent beyond his age.
While the details of his presentation are being kept hush hush, it is believed that he will be presenting one of the major categories that night and will be doing it slightly differently, adding in his own magical touch.
Dev was in India in December to promote his film The Man Who Knew Infinity, which opened at IFFI in Goa. Dev plays the title role of Srinivas Ramanujan and garnered tremendous praise among viewers for his fearless and honest portrayal of the mathematician. The Man Who Knew Infinity will release in India on April 29th across 150 screens in English, as well as dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu. Following this film is Dev’s next biggie for 2016, titled Lion, which is already touted to be a frontrunner for awards next year.
All we can do is wait and watch out for Dev’s upcoming projects. Until then, we are only too glad to see him grace the coveted red carpet and Oscar stage at the Kodak Theatre this year.
