Colors' Kasam gives you the Lamhe feel!

A lover lost is a love story left incomplete, I think not! Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming show Kasam, which replaces Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi is a tale sees true love emerge victorious even over death.

Kasam

The show starring Ssharad Malhotra and Kratika Sengar is a reincarnation saga with more than just a deja vu feeling. The first look promo depicts an girl and a boy having a conversation about their aspirations. Upon the boys’ statement that his dreams are as high as the sky, the girl leaps to reach the heavens and meets the face of death. The much in love man, waits for with the belief that she will one day return to him in one form or another.

While the premise may be completely different, one cannot help but think of the 1991 classic Lamhe, starring Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. In the film, Sridevi – who is not in love with Anil Kapoor – suffers a pregnancy related death but returns in the form of her newborn only to fall in love with Anil Kapoor who is awestruck by the close resemblance of mother and daughter.

Kasam

Adding to the Lamhe-esque feel is Ssharad Malhotra’s mature look for the series. From the knitted sweater to the glasses and slick back hair, his character reminds you of the suited-booted Arun (minus the mustache and grey hair) from the film.

The first episode of Kasam airs on Colors March 7th at 10:30 PM.
