Television sweet and sassy girl Tanvi Thakkar is back again to conquer your hearts. The actress known for her contribution to shows such as Ek Doosre Se Karte Hai Pyaar Hum, Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahanii and Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, is back with Life OK’s sci-fi sitcom Bahu Hamari Rajnikant. We sat down with the bubbly actress to find out about the show, her co-star and more. Here is what she had to say:
Your upcoming show, Bahu Hamari Rajnikant, is a sci-fi sitcom. What was your initial reaction on the genre?
Shows that are different from the usual saas-bahu saga always catch my eye. I have done many such dailies and I’m sure I’ll be doing many more in the future but a concept like this is something I couldn’t miss out on. Also it’s my first comedy show, so there is so much to learn.
Tell us a bit about your character.
Sharmila is a modern bahu, stylish and classy. She doesn’t know how to do household work and has no interest to learn either. She has an older bhabhi who she shares a love hate relationship with. She becomes a child with her husband and his attention makes her the happiest. She s a fusion of cunning and dumb, too much fun!
Vahbbiz and yourself are close friends in real life but for this show you will be enacting one another’s enemies. How does it feel working opposite her?
Vahbbiz and I go long back. We met in a show about five years ago and there was no looking back from that one day we accidently shared space for an hour in the vanity van. We have been very close ever since. And now getting to hate her in the show is hilarious , after our takes we keep laughing because it’s so weird saying hate lines to her!
We hear you are paired opposite Pankit Thakker. What is it like working with him?
Pankit and I met at first during our mock shoot. We were in such a hurry that day to pack up so we didn’t even exchange pleasantries, we just quickly did the scene and left for home. The scene I shot with him was the best scene I have ever shot in my life. Our chemistry clicked and we didn’t even know each other’s names properly! Our chemistry in the show is something everyone’s gonna love !
If not for the entertainment business, what other career path would you have chosen?
If not in the entertainment business I would be a writer. I love writing, and expressing emotions comes very easily to me. I have recently written a short film that have brought tears in my friends eyes. I’m hoping to get it made someday.
What is your message for fans?
I would like to tell them that more than for money or fame, it’s people’s appreciation that makes us actors happy. Keep loving me because that makes the blood in my veins! And please don’t forget to watch Bahu Hamari Rajnikant, it’s one above the rest for sure!
