After much speculation, Yash Raj Films upcoming movie Sultan has finally decided on who will play the lead role opposite Salman Khan! The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The filmmakers have left us guessing for a long time and names from Bollywood and Indian television were both being thrown around. The list included Parineeti Chopra, Mandana Karimi, Ankita Lokhande, and Mrunal Kulkarni, just to name a few. However, Yash Raj Films has finally confirmed that the leading lady is none other than Anushka Sharma!
According to reports, this was a last minute decision that was in the hands of Aditya Chopra who was in charge of casting. Anushka shares a good relationship with Aditya, and has worked with Yash Raj Films in the past as well. In fact, she had debuted with Yash Raj Films’ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and was also seen in Yash Raj Films’ Badmaash Company, Band Baaja Baaraat, Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. She has not been paired opposite Salman before, but she has worked opposite Shahrukh Khan twice! We’re definitely excited about this new pairing! What do you all think?
