"It's difficult to attempt something new." – Mehul Nisar

Mehul Nisar is your quintessential all rounder. The actor who began his career with the hit series Hip Hip Hurray , has come a long way since. He has acted in a number of series including Apna Apna Style, Woh Rehane Wali Mehelon Ki, Dekho Magar Pyar Se, Pyar Ki Kashti Mein, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan and has acted in over 50 television commercials. Now, the actor is back to entertain you in Life OK’s upcoming sitcom Bahu Hamari Rajnikant.

Your upcoming show, Bahu Hamari Rajnikant, is a sci-fi sitcom. What was your initial reaction on the genre?

Well it is not a new genre for television, but yes, it’s a different show. I have done comedy shows in the past but this one is different.

Tell us a bit about your character

I am playing the eldest brother of the 3 brothers, Ghyaan. Ghyaan has grown old but still is a mamma’s boy. His world still revolves around his mother. He is married to Maggie and they have a 8 year old daughter. He is funny and has a habit of relating the current situations to Bollywood movies and songs.

Amir and Sonali Jaffar turn producers with this show. what was your experience like working with them?

It has been a pleasure to be working with Amir and Sonali. It’s their first show as producers and am sure many more to come. I wish them loads of success.

According to you, what positive changes have occurred in the Indian television industry over the past decade?

Well I believe we are still in a transition phase and it will take some time but atleast people are making an attempt. We are exploring new genres and there is a niche of audience looking forward to it also. People are experimenting with finite number of episodes and new seasons to the same series. All this is a great positive change to the Indian television industry.

With whom are you closest to on set?

Well I know Karan for 10 years now. I have played his elder brother in Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli for 3 years so we are very comfortable with each other. In fact the entire cast is very fun loving. Karan, Pankit,Tanvi, Vahbbiz, Riddima, Pallaviji, Rajendraji, Neel, Sweety, Anhokhee, We have a lot of fun on the sets.

What do you accept fans to take away from the show?

I feel the fans will have a lot of light hearted moments from all the characters in the show. It’s a feel good happy show!

What is your message to fans?

It’s difficult to attempt something new. We are trying something different. Watch it with an open mind. I’m sure you will like it.
