Hollywood hottie Orlando Bloom has landed in India…but he certainly hit a few speed bumps along the way!
Bloom, who has starred in blockbuster franchises like ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’, was invited to India by politician Amar Singh to promote tourism in the country. But upon landing in Delhi at 1:30 AM, the actor discovered that the e-visa he had applied for had been rejected!
Bloom was denied entry into India and deported back to Britain at 4:00 AM. And to make matters worse, Bloom found himself unwell upon arrival, but was refused medical care by Indian authorities.
Amar Singh, the man responsible for bringing Bloom to India, spoke about the incident to a leading outlet, explaining,
“He had applied for an e-visa and didn’t get a reply. His office thought that he would get the visa on arrival.”
But things didn’t go as planned, and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was called in to intervene on Bloom’s behalf. Bloom was promptly issued a legal visa, and he returned India the next day, where he was finally admitted into the country.
We certainly hope the rest of Bloom’s trip goes off without a hitch. Welcome to India, Orlando!
