1. Sonam Kapoor in Ashi Studio
Sonam wore this gorgeous white dress from Ashi Studio to chef Vikas Khanna’s book launch in Cannes. Though the dress was formal, she kept things casual by pairing it with strappy white sandals, oversized sunglasses, and loose bun.
2. Kareena Kapoor in Roberto Cavalli Atelier
With nude makeup and straight side-swept hair, Bebo let the color do the talking in this beaded yellow gown from Roberto Cavalli Atelier. The dress fit her like a glove, and the plunging neckline and cutout back added extra sex appeal.
3. Divya Khosla Kumar in Shehlaa by Shehla Khan
Divya wore this gorgeous Grecian-style gown by Shehla Khan at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards. The gown’s drape and waist details were complemented perfectly by Amrapali earrings, and pink lips added a pop of color to the all-white look. Stunning!
4. Priyanka Chopra in Toni Maticevski
Priyanka positively glowed in this Toni Maticevski number on the red carpet of the Star Guild Awards. The bright orange color perfectly suited her skin tone, and the bouffant ponytail gave the dress a fun, flirty vibe. A metallic Mawi necklace and red lips added accents of color to a look that could have easily been overwhelming, but one that PC worked to perfection.
5. Kangana Ranaut in Ralph & Russo Couture
Kangana looked every inch the debutante in this white tiered Ralph & Russo gown at the ‘Queen’ premiere in Paris, France. A soft up-do and understated makeup allowed the dramatic gown to shine all on its own.
6. Sonam Kapoor in Paolo Sebastian
Making her second appearance on this list, this cream Paolo Sebastian and lace cape took Sonam from fashionista to fairy princess. A smoky eye added some edge to the look, which she finished off with diamond studs and a Thale Blanc clutch.
7. Nimrat Kaur in Pankaj & Nidhi
Nimrat donned this intricate Pankaj & Nidhi full-sleeve gown at the BAFTA after-party. Nude makeup and diamond solitaires were all she needed to dress up the look.
8. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Ralph & Russo Couture
Aish always brings her fashion A-Game to Cannes, and this year was no exception. She took our breath away in this dramatic Ralph & Russo Couture gown, creating one of the fashion highlights of the year. The peak-a-boo glimpse of her legs gave the look a sexy edge and kept the gown from overwhelming her frame. She kept her hair, makeup, and jewelry simple…a look like this certainly doesn’t need many accessories!
9. Katrina Kaif in Jenny Packham
We saw several celebs in similar Jenny Packham gowns this year, but none left an impression the way Miss Kaif’s look did. The red-tinted hair (which she was sporting for her role in ‘Fitoor’) was a bit of a downer, but otherwise the look was tied together perfectly. With side-swept hair and bright pink lips, Kat looked feminine and fuss-free.
10. Anushka Sharma in Bhaavya Bhatnagar
Anushka was the picture of cool in this chic white jumpsuit at the Dil Dhadakne Do music launch! The look is a tricky one, but the casual topknot, shades, geographic earrings, and sky-high heels made this asymmetrical design a winner. And it certainly doesn’t hurt that Anushka has legs up to there!
11. Malaika Arora Khan in Nachiket Barve
Malaika is best known for her sex appeal, so this ethereal Nachiket Barve gown made for a nice change of pace for the TV personality. The beadwork was certainly intricate, but the overall impression was minimalist and chic, allowing Malaika’s natural beauty to shine through.
12. Kangana Ranaut in Manish Malhotra Couture
Another actress makes her second appearance on this list, and it’s no surprise that the final slot has gone to fierce fashionista Kangana Ranaut! Kangana donned this chocolate brown Manish Malhotra gown in Melbourne during ‘Katti Batti’ promotions. The gown itself was lovely and voluminous, but it was the beaded bolero jacket casually thrown over her shoulders that made the look. Extra points to Kangana for wearing her hair down in natural, messy curls…it added just the amount of personality this gown needed!
