On her birthday, Richa Chadha celebrates a banner year!

Actress Richa Chadha, who turned 27 on December 18, had plenty of reasons to smile this year!

Richa, who started her career as a magazine intern, joined the Bollywood big leagues in 2015 with her breakthrough performance in Neeraj Ghaywan’s Indo-French production ‘Masaan’. The film, which talks about morality and caste in small-town India, confronts head on the rigid social structure and preconceived mindsets in contemporary society.

‘Masaan’ made a big splash at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was screened in the Un Certain Regard section and earned two top prizes. Richa’s performance in the film was praised unanimously, and she was catapulted to the top of every Best Actress list of 2015!

Richa ended the year on a high note by becoming the youngest actress ever to serve on the official jury of the prestigious Marrakech Film Festival. And she had another reason to celebrate this week: the stunning actress took home the ‘Editor’s Choice Performer of the Year’ award at the Stardust Awards 2015!

Next year looks to be just as promising for the star. She will be seen in Pooja Bhatt’s ‘Cabaret’, and will later share screen space with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda in Omung Kumar’s highly anticipated biopic ‘Sarbjit’.

Things are certainly looking up for our birthday girl!
