Anjum Sharma plays a Sikh ATS officer in Wazir!

Anjum Sharma started up his film career with the Oscar winning Danny Boyle film Slumdog MillionaireAnjum mesmerized the audience with his cameo in Bijoy Nambiar’s- David. Now he will be seen in the highly anticipated film, Wazir.

Anjum started his career on-stage in theater and went on to perform in many plays along with charismatic Makrand Deshpande. He considers him as his guru, a true philosopher and guide.

According to the sources, the young actor was very ecstatic about his role in Wazir as an ATS Officer. As soon as he was selected for the role, he began working on his character immediately. He went from learning his Punjabi dialect, to tying on a turban and being prim and proper. He spent time at a friends place to learn how to tie a turban, just to get a feel of it. He took the experience to a whole other level. Anjum also traveled from Malad to Bandra to test his comfort and the reaction of the people.  Initially, he felt uncomfortable and would have headaches because of the weight of the turban, but eventually got accustomed to it.

wazir4Anjum states,

I am playing the role of a Sikh cop Sartaj Singh, who is a colleague and a close friend to Farhan’s character Danish Ali. He is emotionally n professionally connected to Daanish in the story n the course of events in the film.

 

The Vidhu Vinod Chopra film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, and Aditi Rao HydariWazir is an action thriller film written by Abhijat Joshi and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and directed by Bejoy Nambiar.
