Aligarh releasing February 2016!

Aligarh directed by National Award winning director, Hansal Mehta will be releasing February 26, 2016!

Aligarh is about an old professor on the verge of his retirement and is expelled from his University after a camera catches him engaged in an homosexual act. Though consensual, it triggers a controversy regarding morality and tradition. A young journalist sets on to further investigate the truth and unravel the reality of this ‘sting operation’.

The film, based on true events, depicts the unlikely friendship between the two. This relationship changes them both forever.The film received an outstanding ovation at its world premiere at the prestigious 20th Busan International Film Festival in October 2015. Shortly there-after opened to a packed house at the 59th BFI London Film Festival and then later in the same month, it was selected as the opening film at the 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Directed by Hansal Mehta and written by Apurva Asrani, the film is produced by Eros International and Karma Pictures. The much anticipated film will release on February 26, 2016.
