2015 was the year Bollywood started taking comedy very seriously! Several mainstream actors known for their dramatic chops took on comedic roles this year…and pulled them off seamlessly!
Here’s a look back at some of the best comedic performances of 2015!
Amitabh Bachchan in Piku
After ruling hearts for decades and constantly reinventing himself, this legendary actor didn’t shy away from playing a dysfunctional father, obsessed with his constipation problems. Big B killed it with his excellent comedic timing and perfectly balanced performance!
Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Kangana reprised her role as Tanu in TWMR, but took on the additional challenge of also playing tomboy Kusum Sangwan aka Datto. She nailed the character’s heavy Haryani accent, and managed to tickle our funny bones AND tug at our heartstrings in the film’s climax.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Nawaz, who is known for his intense acting and serious characters, made us all giggle with his subtle humor in the film. Though Salman and little Harshaali were the stars of the film, Nawaz made sure his role stood out!
Kartik Aryan in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2
Kartik, the new chocolate boy in B-town, made all the guys nod along with his monologue and also made the girls go gaga over his good looks!
Pavleen Gujral in Angry Indian Goddesses
After being on the fashion scene for 8 years as a popular face associated with numerous commercials and press shoots, Pavleen made her Bollywood debut in the female buddy film Angry Indian Goddesses. Her superb comedic timing had audiences rolling with laughter. She’s one actress to watch out for!
