Robert Zemeckis gives you 'The Walk'

Director Robert Zemeckis’ latest film The Walk, chronicles the real life events of French high-wire artist, Philippe Petit played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who shot to fame for his daring high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City in 1974. Portraying the role of Philippe Petit in the movie is Joseph Gordon- Levitt who had to master the skill. After having being trained for the role by Petit himself, it seems Joseph Gordon-Levitt can now add “tightrope walking” to his resumé.

Talking about his experience in a recent interview, Gordon explained,

“Philippe actually insisted that he be the one to teach me to walk on the wire. And his partner Cathy set up this elaborate workshop. Philippe does everything elaborately so I just spent eight days straight, all day learning to walk on the wire. And he was insistent that at the end, I would be able to walk on the wire, which sounded ambitious to me. And then finally I was able to balance on the wire. And I didn’t want to stop even though it really killed my feet. I actually loved doing it.”

The movie is all set to release in India on 9th October by Sony Pictures India.
