Sources attached to the film claim that though Vir had an option of sporting a fake beard, he refused to do so and instead opted to grow
his beard for the sake of authenticity. A source says,

Vir grew and maintained his beard especially for this role so that he fits the role of a Sikh. He also learned Punjabi from a diction coach and read about the Sikh culture.”

Written and produced by Harry Sachdeva under the banner Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, ’31st October’ which has been directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, stars Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in the lead roles.
