Actress Shraddha Kapoor shows off her fierce side by taking on the runway for this year’s Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2015! Not only did Shraddha light up the runway but ace designer Namrata Joshipura literally lit up the runway with LED lights! India’s iconic beauty brand Lakmé teamed up with Namrata Joshipura for the Lakmé Insta Light Show by Namrata, showcasing a dazzling collection inspired by Lakmé’s latest skincare innovation, Lakmé Insta Light – a unique blend of skin lightening crème and mineral powder that promises to give evenly lit up skin in an instant.
The Lakmé Insta Light runway saw an impactful use of LED lights that lit up Namrata’s creations. Her collection was the perfect metaphor for Lakmé Insta Light crème that promises to light up your skin instantly! The show opened with models positioned under four giant black iron rectangular frames that lined the stage. In the darkness of the hall, their superb swimwear with strategically placed lit bulbs came alive and created an almost magical atmosphere as they glided down the mirrored runway.
With sparkling ear accessories, the show moved into high fashion mode as batwing printed covers, dolman sleeve tops, asymmetric long sleeve printed wraps, drop waist dress and shimmering racer back tops appeared in quick succession on the ramp. The white crushed asymmetric coat, silver side cascades on pencil skirts and the micro shorts under long tulle skirts followed the inspiration of the Lakmé Insta light.
To match the lightness of the inspiration, Namrata selected white, light pastel blue and purple as the primary hues. To further highlight the theme, Namrata also brought in shimmer and Holographic fabric by weaving metallic strips into the fabrics that played a magical medley on the runway, with its tricky opulence and added a contemporary accent. Speaking about her collection, Namrata said,
“My collection was inspired from Lakmé’s latest skin care innovation Lakmé Insta Light, it aimed to set the stage for a youthful and modern collection that glowed and sparkled. Iridescence and shine were the primary elements of my collection and I achieved this through both surface embellishment and interesting fabrics. I feel Lakmé Insta Light is very fashion forward – similarly, the silhouettes that I presented were sharp, sexy and of the fashion moment.”

“Namrata’s iridescent collection was a beautiful interpretation of the Lakmé Insta Light crème that promises evenly lit up skin in an instant! I had a lot of fun walking for her and just as Lakmé Insta Light, Namrata’s collection instantly lit up the runway. Her glowing accessories added drama to show. ”
