Chennai rapper Sofia Ashraf took on Unilever in a video released by NGO Jhatkaa to bring more awareness to the environmental issues in Kondaikanal, allegedly caused by Unilever. The tune is set to Nicky Minaj’s popular song, Anaconda and is titled Kondaikanal Won’t.
The video highlights Unilever’s failure to clean up the toxic mercury contamination and the damage caused to the factory workers who have been affected by the company’s (now obsolete) thermometer factory. Check out the video below and let us know your thoughts on the issue.
