Varun Dhawan reveals, it was Salman who recommended him for Shuddhi!

Varun Dhawan has been one of the most wanted actors in B-Town in 2015. After delivering five consecutive hits since his debut film, Student of the Year everyone wants to grab a piece of this straight A student and Karan Malhotra is glad he’s caught him in time.

Some time ago, the actor confirmed that he will be playing the lead in Karan Malhotra’s upcoming directorial venture, Shuddhi which was previously offered to Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan.

The interesting twist here is it was in fact Salman Khan who referred Varun Dhawan for the role. When asked if such was the case by Filmfare , Varun Dhawan stated,

“Yes he did, I think. He and Karan (Johar) did have a talk about it. Why Salman bhai is not doing the film, is his personal reason. When I signed the film, I spoke to Bhai first. He gave me his blessings. He also tweeted about it.”

He further stated,

“But I’ll never do a film because someone has recommended me. I’ve to like the film.”

Varun Dhawan is currently filming for Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale.
