The wait is over as the trailer of the latest fantasy thriller directed by Q (GANDU) and Nikon named LUDO is finally out. LUDO is a story about four desperate teenagers who decide to spend one fateful night in the big city. Horny and broke, they hide inside a gigantic shopping mall, after attempts to get a hotel room fail. At the mall all plans go haywire, as an old couple appears from nowhere inviting them to play a game, and a night of terror begins. The game, simple but deadly, is LUDO. Produced by Idyabooster and Starfire Movies, LUDO is co-produced by OddJoint – Q and Celine Loop’s production house. The film stars Rii, Tillotama Shome, Kamalika Banerjee, Joyraj Bhattacharya, Ananya Biswas, Murari Mukherjee, Ronodeep Bose, Soumendra Bhattacharya, and Subholina Sen.
Teenagers looking for sex with the whole thing devolving into a bloodbath is a formula familiar from scores of American horror films but what Q and Nikon are doing here is something very, very different. This film is poised to reshape the thriller-horror genre in India, while presenting a global product for the international markets. The movie stars the vivacious and beautiful actress Rii, who plays a character yet to be seen on Indian screens. Paris based international sales agent Reel Suspects has picked up the film as a part of its latest international distribution catalog.
Twitch, a Canadian English language website featuring news and reviews of mainly international, independent and cult films featured the trailer of the film recently and wrote, “Twitch is proud to present the first trailer for the film in all its bloody glory.”
Even Anurag Kashyap seemed to be quite impressed by the trailer.
“Trust me you want to watch this film..” wrote the filmmaker, while posting it on a social networking site.
The trailer already has over 10,000 views on YouTube, which bodes well for the film’s success. Check it out and let us know if you’re ready for LUDO!
