Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is one to use social media to reach his fans and speak the truth. Recently he posted a statement that he had done the ads for Doordarshan Kisan pro bono.
Bachchan sir’s statement read,
“To Whomsoever It May Concern
I wish to state that I have not entered into any contract with Door Darshan, on the endorsement of their Channel DD Kisan, and neither have I received any money from them.
I worked with the advertising agency Lowe Lintas on the campaign for DD Kisan, and have not entered into any contract with them either, nor have I received any money from Lintas, as being stated.
My ‘deliverables’ on this campaign have been executed by me many days ago.
I work pro bono on various issues and DD Kisan Channel is one of them.
If there is any evidence or proof to the contrary, please forward them to me for verification.Thank you

It was previously stated that Bachchan sir was paid Rs. 6.31 crores for the endorsement, the highest any actor has ever been paid for an endorsement. According to reports Lintas is now in the process of returning the payments made to them for Bachchan. There will be a full inquiry following so keep it locked for more updates!
