Winner of the prestigious Firpresci prize and Promising Future Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2015, Masaan is set to release to the general public in less than a month!
Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, the film revolves around four characters whose lives intersect along the Ganges. The four, a low caste boy in hopeless love, a young woman ridden with guilt of a sexual encounter ending in a tragedy, a hapless father with fading morality, and a spirited child yearning for a family set out in pursuit of their dreams and struggles to escape the moral constructs of a small town. Set against the divine landscape of Banaras, Masaan is touted as a ‘celebration of life, death and everything in between’. Produced by Drishyam Films, Phantom Films, Macassar Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, the film stars Richa Chadha, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi. Masaan is set for release on July 24, 2015.
