The ABCD 2 Film Review!

ABCD 2 is a film I have been eagerly waiting to watch, and even being very sleep-deprived, my eyes were glued opened while I sat at the edge of my seat with goosebumps on my arms.

If you haven’t seen part one, it was amazing, and then when you see part two it is even bigger and better! Director, Remo D’Souza really hit the spot when it comes to the art and sport of dance. Every dance movie, every beat, and every frame was perfected.

Visually the film was extremely appealing. The choreography was something I have never seen on the big-screen both in Indian cinema and Hollywood. I remember watching Varun Dhawan for this first time in Student of the Year in the song, Vele and kept telling people that Varun is going to be the next biggest dancer of B-town. Four years later watching him today in ABCD 2 had my jaw dropping and beyond impressed by his exceptional performance. He really brought power, fire and emotions to the dance floor. Then there’s Shraddha Kapoor, after two non-dance oriented films, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain she is suddenly offered this huge dance film and purely full of grace, energy and extreme passion in her movement. I was awed by both the actors along with all the other professionally trained dancers that were part of the film!

I felt at some points the story itself was quite weak in the film, I wish there was more to the story on its own. Prabhu Deva’s character whose character was the only continued character from the first film should have been more powerful I felt. I also wish the writers of the film had carried on some small bits from the first film into the second one. But all the dance performances and music really added the cherry on-top in this film.

The ending of the film though, just like the first one created the biggest impact on the entire film. Remo really showed what kind of journey it is to go through an intensive international dance competition and that is something I loved the most. In India, dance is an art and in this day and age, it is one of the most worshiped talents in all forms. In fact all around the world, dance is a type of language any person can understand and feel some kind of way by either dancing or watching it. That is what was conveyed in this film and that to in a very beautiful way.
