Kaly releases “Street Rat”

American Asian rapper Kaly has released a new video from his “Letters from Agrabah” project. Check out the new music video!

Produced by Boy of Summer, “Street Rat”, is the crowning jewel of Kaly’s audio-visual work. Arrogant and descriptive bars over hard-hitting production take the listener into the hearts of the inhabitants of Agrabah. Watch as Kaly zones out in front of One World Trade, all the way to a rooftop lit only by flames. Speaking about the new video and track he said,

“I’ve always placed an importance on showing my culture in my visuals and I flipped a lot of things on their head with this one.”

The “Letters from Agrabah” project is a reinterpretation of the classic Disney movie, Aladdin, and utilizes well-known and esoteric South-Asian samples in order to paint a picture of the modern day brown boy going from the bottom to the top. Keep it locked for more from Kaly!
