As most people are aware by now, Salman Khan has been convicted for the hit-and-run case back in 2002. The actor has been sentenced to five years in prison and it out right now until May 8th on interim bail. Many Bollywood personalities have spoken in support of Salman and some like Abhijeet and Farah Khan Ali have made some rather bizzare statements regarding Salman’s verdict.
In a promotional event for his upcoming film, Bombay Velvet, Ranbir Kapoor was asked to comment on Salman’s verdict and the actor said, “You know you can’t challenge the law and all that but I have known Mr. Salman Khan on personal basis for many many years and so does my family. And I can vouch for the fact that he is a good man and he is has got a very big heart. He has helped countless number of people through his foundation. I think he has helped more people than I have ever heard of. So in these trying times you only wish strength and courage for him and his family. And I am sure he is going to bounce back from these trying times. And we wish him all the luck and love.”
Rishi Kapoor also tweeted his support for Salman.
Salman is the second superstar Bollywood actor to be imprisoned in the past two years. Sanjay Dutt is currently serving his five year sentence for possession of weapons that were linked to several bombings in Mumbai in 1993.
