Life: the most important and precious thing we have. Sometimes it’s full, sometimes empty or even questionable. The issue is when it’s unexpected, unexpectedly taken away. Such an unexpected turn was taken this weekend, in the life of our very lovable and dear filmmaker, artist, creative force and human – Prashant Bhargava.
The director that brought us life to the screen including the critically acclaimed and award winning film, Patang (The Kite). Seen, acknowledged and appreciated all over, Bhargava passed away this past Saturday morning due to a heart attack in New York City. Originally from Chicago, besides his creativity and artistic ability, he was known for his loving smile and the ability to make friends and get people to come together.
The New York Indian Film Festival, held the past week in NYC saw Prashant Bhargava as the same lovey individual that we all fell in love with. From attending screenings to moderating post-screening Q&As, Bhargava presented himwelf as a part of our film fraternity of what is booming in North America as well as the world.
Friends and family took to social media to express grief,condolences and life to what they knew Prashant Bhargava.
We send our condolences to his family and friends in these trying times. Great artists never truly leave, they are immortalized in their art and we hope Prashant will live on forever in the hearts of his fans through his work.
