George Clooney’s upcoming film, Tomorrowland will see Clooney playing a jaded, surly, reclusive scientist, who once was a wide-eyed boy genius. Clooney will be seen teaming up with a curious teenager, who has a thirst for the scientific world.
Their adventure together gives viewers a better look into the future, including both the good and the bad and answers for a better world may exist in this otherworldly place called, Tomorrowland. While promoting the film with his gorgeous wife, Amal, Clooney claims to have loved the optimism in the film. He said,
“I’m not a very cynical guy, but I like doing cynical films. This was one that felt like that was none of that and sort of clean of all those things. I thought it would be fun to do,”
He also spoke about how his days of doing action are over. He said,
“I used to do in my 30s, I would do a film with some action in it where I get to punch some guy, knock him out and walk away. Now, I’m the guy who gets punched and dropped.”
Tomorrowland tells the story of a parallel world, an image of an ideal future from a 1964 perspective with hovering monorails and leather suits, not the future we are seeing now with social media sites like Twitter, which Clooney said he refuses to use. The film also stars Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie, Judy Greer, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw and more.
