Recently Ankit Tiwari, Shilpa Rao and Akriti Kakkar were in the United States traveling the country for their Generation Next Tour. We had the chance to sit down with all three of the talented artist while they were in Elizabeth, New Jersey for a chat about everything from family to music! Akriti Kakkar is the lively voice behind hits like “Marjaani” from Billu Barber, the title track of Johnny Gaddar, “Iski Uski” from 2 States, and “Saturday, Saturday” from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya! She’s even composed and sang songs for Bengali films as well.
This peppy singer is the oldest of the Kakkar sisters who are on the rise. Akriti’s younger twin sisters, Prakriti and Sukriti were also on the Generation Next Tour. Akriti tells us about how supportive her parents had been and how she both teaches and learns from her younger sisters. The sweet singer was even a judge for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa lil’ Champs! She said it was an “evolving” experience where she learned so much from the talented little children. Check out all she had to say in our interview!
