Another brand new song from the upcoming film Margarita With A Straw has been released. With its peppy beats and unique melody, ‘Foreign Balamwa’ features Kalki Koechlin, Revathy, and Sayani Gupta amongst others. The song aptly portrays the fun and enthusiasm that the lead character Laila embodies.
After her chartbusters ‘Aali Re‘ from No One Killed Jessica (2011) and ‘London Thumakda’ from Queen (2014), singer Sonu Kakkar is back with yet another strong, energetic, and (interestingly enough) female-centric track. Written by Prasoon Joshi and composed by Mikey McCleary, ‘Foreign Balamwa’ has ethnic folkish beats with an island feel that will leave listeners grooving and optimistic. ‘Foreign Balamwa’ mirrors the free-spiritedness that Laila sees in herself as she explores and transcends the boundaries of her comfort zone.
Margarita With A Straw speaks of Laila’s emotional journey about freedom and sexuality and her aim to find her herself in the world. Touching upon the various serious topics, the film has travelled to many film festivals across the globe winning awards and impressing the audience.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Jakhotia Group, Ishan Talkies and ADAPT, and directed by the acclaimed Shonali Bose, the film’s star cast includes veteran star Revathy, Hollywood actor William Moseley (lead of the Narnia Chronicles), and the talented new face Sayani Gupta in pivotal roles. The movie is slated to release on April 17, 2015.
