Ekta Kapoor adds a nudity clause to her contracts?

Ekta Kapoor is seen as one of the most groundbreaking female producers of our time. In a time where many filmmakers are scared of the Central Board of Film Certification, Ekta is reportedly including a ‘nudity clause’ in her contracts. The producer is known for making steamy films that push the envelope when it comes to mainstream Bollywood films.

Ekta is all set to make an erotica film titled, XXX. The film will star all new faces and will feature five different stories, each exploring a different aspect of sexuality. To ensure that there are no issues by the actors later, a nudity clause has been put into their contracts. Reportedly, Sunny Leone had refused to shoot some scenes during Ragini MMS 2. Confirming the news of the nudity clause, director, Ken Ghosh told a leading daily, “We have already had lots of discussions on how things would be shot and we do not want any problems during the filming. So we decided it was best to put in on paper as a techno-legal clause.”

In the late 1970s, we saw Zeenat Aman push the envelope with her film, Satya Shivam Sundaram. The gorgeous actress went blouse-less in a white saree, which left very little to the imagination. Actresses aren’t the only ones who showed nudity in films. We have seen actors drop their clothes as well. Neil Nitin Mukesh went completely nude for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Jail, however, the censor board had Neil’s full frontal blurred out.

The censor board has become stricter over time and it will be left to be seen what the nudity clause brings to the table as it isn’t restricted to XXX, but any actor that signs with Ekta will have to agree to the clause. What are your thoughts on this? Will this clause change the face of Bollywood cinema? Let us know in the comment section below.
