Shweta Subram sings for soap 'Tere Sheher Mein'

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, singer Shweta Subram is one to watch.  She has captivated audiences in Canada and abroad with her beautiful renditions, and flawless singing.  Shweta’s YouTube videos (see here) have all been received well by audiences, and with each passing day, she has continued to her list of accomplishments.  Most recently, Shweta was chosen to sing a track for an episode of  Star Plus'”Tere Sheher Mein,” starring Gautami Kapoor and Sachin Tyagi. The track is composed by singer Shaan, Gourav Dasgupta and Roshin Balu who have formed a group called “Superbia“.

When asked how the experience was, Shweta shared,

“The experience was fantastic! It’s not an easy journey being in Mumbai and pursuing this career of playback singing. I’m blessed that industry people are taking notice of my voice and are familiar with my work through YouTube. This is the beginning and looking forward to more.”

Shweta has impressed the likes of Shankar Mahadevan and even performed alongside music duo, Salim-Sulaiman at the IIFA Rocks in 2011.  Shweta is the recipient of multiple awards including the North American Best Singer award from Sangam Kala Group, and the Best Singer Award from Shankar Mahadevan Academy’s talent hunt that was judged by Shankar Mahadevan himself.  Shweta has collaborated with top groups, including the Piano Guys, with whom she did a recent tour.  Their collaboration, “Don’t You Worry Child (Khushnuma)” has received over 11 million views on YouTube.  Also, Shweta debuted as a Bollywood Playback singer with the track “Dil-e-Nadaan” (a duet with Ayushmann Khurrana) from the movie Hawaizaada starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Sharda.
