Sagarika says of the awards,

“Events on saving a girl child and abolishing female foeticide should be encouraged throughout the world, specially in the developing countries like India. This event by Shakseeyat Magazine was even more special since it was not just an award show, it also brought the disclosure of the opening of an ‘ashram’ by the founders of the magazine Diptie & Piyush Sharma. I am so happy to know many of the abandoned girl childs will get a safe home and will receive the love and care that they deserve. I was specially asked by Diptie to perform the song ‘O Ri Chiraiya’ for the occasion. I am so glad I was able to do my small part in such an event and arouse the emotions of the people through my voice. Also I am honored to be considered as one of the Diamonds of the society and feel privileged to be receiving such an award. Lets hope the situation of the girl child in our country will be improved by such initiatives”.

Keep up the fabulous work women of the world!
