The new year seems to have brought some very good news for singer Shreya Ghoshal! No, I’m not talking about more awards! I’m talking about something even more priceless! Shreya, known for her amazing voice and beautiful romantic songs, has found romance in her own life! On Thursday February 5th, the lovely singer tied the knot with her long-time beau and childhood sweetheart, businessman Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya, in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family. Shiladitya is an entrepreneur and the founder of hipcask.com, and is also CTO of Rasilant Technologies. The couple opted for a traditional Bengali wedding, and as you can see in the picture, they look perfect together.
Back in January, she had posted a rather cryptic message suggesting a major change in her life. She had posted on January 30th on her social media accounts, “Don’t know if I’m super nervous or super excited.. Never felt like this b4. Whatever I am up to I will let u know soon;) but need ur wishes.” That message had immediately fed the speculation that she was to wed soon, but there was no conclusive proof, of course. Now, it has been officially confirmed by the nightingale herself, as only a few hours ago, she officially shared the exciting news on social media accompanied by a wedding selfie!
Shreya posted,
“Married the love of my life yesterday night (5th feb) in a beautiful bengali traditional wedding in presence of our families and closest friends. Shiladitya and I both seek your good wishes in this exciting new phase of our lives!”
For those who don’t know, Shreya and Shiladitya were childhood sweethearts. She chose to remain fairly mum about her relationship, and has always been more of a private person. It is wonderful that their love has remained strong and I hope it only grows stronger. On behalf of the Urban Asian team, here’s wishing the couple many happy married years together!
