Fox Star Studios' Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel sweep Oscars 2015!

After 20th Century Fox won the triple crown of box office, as market share leader for 2014 in India (Hollywood) , International and Global box office, breaking industry records for a calendar year in both the International ($3.73Billion) and Global box office categories ($5.52Billion), the studio’s exemplary achievements continue with their top films Birdman and Grand Budapest Hotel sweeping the Oscars 2015!

As expected, the two films which had garnered the maximum Oscar nominations (9 each) took away the maximum Oscars in the glittering ceremony held in Los Angeles. Birdman won the coveted Best Picture and Best Director Oscar along with Cinematography, and Original Screenplay. Wes Anderson’s TheGrand Budapest Hotel took away Costume Design, Makeup, Production design and Score. The two Fox movies are at the top of the academy league table, with both movies currently in theatres for Indian fans!

The comedy drama Birdman is co-written, produced, and directed by Alejandro González Iñárrituhas. Starring Michael Keaton with Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts, Birdman showcases Michael Keaton as a former superhero-playing actor trying to recharge his career with a Broadway play. Keaton plays a faded Hollywood actor famous for his superhero role struggling to mount a Broadway adaptation of a Raymond Carver story.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a comedy film directed and co-written by Wes Anderson and inspired by the writings of Stefan Zweig. It stars Ralph Fiennes as a concierge who teams up with one of his employees (Tony Revolori) to prove his innocence after he is framed for murder. The stellar ensemble cast includes Edward Norton, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Jeff Goldblum, Owen Wilson, Harvey Keitel amongst others
