Sanjay Leela Bhansali had a very distinct vision about ‘Chenab Gandhi’, he was convinced he had a film starring stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and critically acclaimed actor, Rajeev Khandelwal in the leading roles. But the film got shelved as Bhansali moved on to other projects.
Now we hear that producer Smita Thackeray has decided to pump some life into ‘Chenab Gandhi’ and bring it back from the dead! The producer says,
“I plan to produce six to seven films this year, including ‘Chenab Gandhi’, under my new banner. Everything should be finalised by January 30.”
Smita wants Varun Dhawan and Parineeti Chopra to play the lead roles in the film as both the actors have exhibited great acting potential this past year. She adds,
“’Chenab Gandhi’ is all about acting and from what everybody in the industry says, I think Varun Dhawan and Parineeti Chopra are a perfect fit. I can see only these two in this set-up”.
While a source close to the ‘Badlapur’ actor reveals that he has loved the script and is considering signing it now, confirmation by Pari is yet to be received. Parineeti hasn’t had the most successful year so a film to get her started in 2015 won’t be a bad thing. Varun, on the other hand is all set to amaze with ‘Badlapur’, and his next ‘ABCD 2’ is also spelling out to be a winner.
However, we as audience would really like to see how these powerhouse performers look together though Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan’s boots will not be easy to fill!
