Bollywood Featured Music What's Happenin'

Shweta Subram takes you on a "Bollywood Evolution"

Is it possible to relive 60 years of Bollywood music in just 5 minutes? Apparently it is, and Shweta Subram proves it with her latest release, “Bollywood Evolution“! Inspired by Pentatonix’s evolution of music, Shweta takes you into a musical time machine for a journey tracing popular Bollywood songs from classical evergreen melodies to modern hits. The track is a unique piece of work as it contains no instruments.  Instead, it is a pure vocal a capella rendition of some of the most memorable songs of Bollywood!  The only beats are provided by champion beatboxer Prashant Nair!  The collaboration between the two artists results in an amazing nostalgic expedition for lovers of Bollywood.

Of course, it is impossible to feature every song from Bollywood, but Shweta has selected some truly iconic numbers to capture the essence of Bollywood!  The songs featured (in order) are: Babuji Dheere Chalna, Saiyyan Dil Mein Aana Re, Kajra Mohabbat Wala, Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh, Dum Maro Dum, Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Aap Jaisa Koi, Choli Ke Peeche, Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna, Rangeela Re, Race Saason Ki, Kajra Re, Beedi Jalaile, Pani Da Rang, and Babydoll!

Hailing from Canada, Shweta Subram shot to fame when she performed with Salim-Sulaiman at the IIFA Awards in 2011 followed by collaborations with established YouTube stars like Shankar Tucker as well as with The Piano Guys.  Produced by Qyuki, “Bollywood Evolution” will inspire artists to think outside the box while staying connected to familiar territories.  The mixing and mastering was done by Aftab Khan, while the track was arranged by Abhinav Sunil.
