Iconic percussionists speak their mind in Art and Artistes'

Two musical maestro’s of the world’s seminal percussionists of World Music and Carantic Music , Pete Lockett and V. Selvaganesh, have come together for the third webisodes of the iconic ‘Inner Voice’ series created by Art And Artistes.

Pete Lockett is an English percussionist who is famous for his interest in international music. Well versed with Arabic, Japanese, Western as well as Indian music cultures, he has been associated with some of the world’s most famous musicians and bands. He has recorded and performed with many artists including Björk, Amy Winehouse, Zakir Hussain and A.R. Rahman amongst many others. He has also worked extensively in the film industry, playing for a number of Bond movies, Moulin Rouge, The Insider, City of Angels, The Bone Collector and the Guy Ritchie movie Snatch.

V. Selvaganesh, also known as Chella Ganesh, is an Indian percussionist. Born to the Grammy-winning musician Vidhwan T.H. Vikku Vinayakram in Chennai, he has trained extensively in Carnatic music by his father. He has composed for many films and albums. He is also part of internationally acclaimed “Remember Shakti” along with musicians such as Legendary John McLaughlin, Ustad Zakir Hussain Late U. Shriniwas. He has travelled the world performing world renowned musicians such as Jonas Hellborg, Shawn Lane, Pandit Jasraj, Shankar Mahadevan, Niladri Kumar to name a few.
