"Tiger" Salman Khan's Tiger Encounter!

For some reason, actor Salman Khan and the word Tiger go hand-in-hand!  2012 saw Salman play a spy named Tiger (in “Ek Tha Tiger”), and now, Salman’s back in the news for another tiger!  This time, the actor with a love for charity, helped launch the trailer of an upcoming movie about tigers – “Roar: The Tigers Of The Sundarbans.“ What was impressive, is that not only was superstar Salman Khan present to unveil the trailer, but also, he stood face-to-face with a mighty tiger!

You can relax, Salman didn’t have to actually encounter a live and hungry tiger!  Rather, his meeting was part of Augmented Reality (AR), a unique concept wherein real video is combined with a computer generated image and is projected on a large screen that looks very real. This gives people an opportunity to experience certain elements in virtual reality without actually physically being present. Hence, Salman Khan got to interact with a tiger and even managed to pet the mighty beast, minus the danger.

In addition to experiencing a tiger, the audience got to watch a huge alligator snap at Salman’s hand as well!  Undoubtedly, this is one of the most innovative concepts ever done at a trailer launch and Salman looked like he thoroughly enjoyed himself.  If this has piqued your interest, you will be happy to know that the makers of the film will be going all out to promote their film using this unique Augmented Reality concept across various colleges and malls where people will be given a chance to experience the Tigers of Sundarbans and other animals who live there!

 

Produced by Abis Rizvi and directed by Kamal Sadanah, “Roar: Tigers of The Sundarbans” will release on 19th September.  The film centers on a young photojournalist named Uday, who is on assignment in the jungles of the Sundarbans.  He rescues a white tiger cub ensnared in a poachers trap and brings the cub to a small settlement he is based in, but the villagers become panicked and the cub is ultimately taken from Uday and killed.  The cub’s mother comes to the village in search of her baby, realizes she cannot get her baby back, and so, turns to revenge.  Therein begins the story.  Who will survive this mother’s wrath?
