It’s no surprise that some actors can be comedians and some can be just good stage actors! Vir Das seemed to prove that one! Vir Das’ play History of India – VIRitten, presented by Ashvin Gidwani Productions has been appreciated by the audience worldwide. The play which won the audience’s hearts in Dubai and Johannesburg was staged to a packed house in Thane on 22nd June 2014.
As usual, Vir Das kept the audience in high spirits with a perfect mixture of humor and history.
Actor Vir Das said, “It is always a pleasure to receive such appreciation from the audience. It helps us give our best every time we go on stage. This show is our first in India after Johannesburg and it was a delight to perform here.”
Vir Das’ version of the Indian History is ridden with many hilarious comparisons that kept the crowd in splits. The show received a standing ovation, thus making their first time trip to Thane a very successful and memorable one. With such a good response, AGP hopes to keep coming back to Thane and entertaining the audience there.
History of India brings out the humor for the audiences in Vir Das’s crazy ways and fun-filled antics and dialogues. Featuring renowned actors Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, the play promises to take viewers on a journey back in time right from the Harappan civilization and the Vedas to the Mughal Era, ending with the oddities of the present day.
