Don’t get super excited yet! We were almost excited and jumping up for joy! A flash back to the movie world ‘might’ be coming back! Or will it?
Director Rajkumar Santoshi is currently working on the sequel of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. And the filmmaker says that both the lead actors of the original film, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, have agreed to work in the sequel of the much appreciated film! But Santoshi says that he will repeat them only if they produce the movie!
Released in 1994, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ originally didn’t fare well at the box office. But its funny one-liners, entertaining drama and melodious songs have turned it into an all-time favourite comedy over the years. When the filmmaker was asked about casting Salman and Aamir in ‘Andaz Apna Apna 2’ he replied,
“It is not possible to repeat them in the sequel. It was a different scenario at that time but today they are big stars of the industry.”
But he added saying,
“Although they both (Salman and Aamir) keep saying that they will love to do the film, once I am ready with the script, I will discuss with them. I will be able to cast them in the sequel if they both will produce the film as it would not be possible to sign the two big stars to do the film.”
Talking about the sequel’s work done so far, Santoshi said,
“They want that the script should be good and full of comedy so the ball is in my court now and I have to get the script ready for them.”
But it looks like he is in two minds whether he should rope in the Khans or instead work with newcomers in the much-awaited sequel. When he was asked about the cast in his mind while developing the script, Santoshi said,
“I am working on the script considering the two points of views. I am working on the characters keeping the age factor of Salman and Aamir and also youngsters. Let’s see what comes as the end product.” Let’s see, indeed!
