It’s not often a star is born with a god gifted voice, passion for classical music and ability to play numerous instruments at just the young age of 25. Get ready to hear the most soulful voice of Kesh K this summer with his debut single releasing in the next few months. As an introduction, Kesh K is ready to release “The Live Session” a beautiful medley of three popular Bollywood songs re sung by Kesh is his own style. The Live session is set to really take live singing to another level. Kesh is not rushing to get to the top by any means. He wants people across the world to appreciate every project he works on so with this in mind he is releasing his first project as a free download. Check it out!
Kesh K born and raised in Bedfordshire is armed with the knowledge of Tabla, harmonium, vocal, writing and composing. Born into a family of mixed origin, Indian and Italian, Kesh’s influences have predominantly lent towards the Indian side as you can tell from his music. Kesh was drawn to sufi, classical music from the age of 3 listening to great Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeskhar, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ghulam Ali, Ustad Zakir Hussain to name a few. Kesh’s father, Om Kaushal also a singer inspired Kesh to pursue his musical dream.
Kesh’s father has been training him since the age of 4 and at the age of 10, Kesh went on to learn Tabla by his guru Shri Anil Bhagwat. Kesh’s Guru, Shri Anil Bhagwat provided the platform for his musical development and from the age of 11 he started performing at private functions. As Kesh progressed, at the age of 16, his training was taken from arguably the UK’s finest tabla maestro, Ustad Shahbaz Hussain. In 2009 India, Kesh was introduced to a music teacher from Apeejay Music College Punjab; Late Geeta Dutt, where she suggested he return to India to perform at Punjab’s most prestigious and oldest Indian classical music event, Harivallabh Sangeet Samelan. This was a turning point in Kesh’s life as this led to him leaving university and taking up music full time.
“ It’s not about fame, quick success or making some money from sales. Real music needs to be appreciated, I want people to appreciate my music, compositions all over the world. The Live Session is something I have wanted to do for years. I have sung live with a live band blending the Sitar, Tabla with a rendition of some beautiful Bollywood and Pakistani music. I want to bring back live music and with the support of fans and music lovers we can make this happen” ~ Kesh K
