The critically acclaimed Irrfan Khan film The Lunchbox was honored with three prizes at the 59th Annual FilmFare Awards including the prestigious Critics Award for Best Film of the Year, Best Supporting Actor (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Best Debut Director (Ritesh Batra).
It is no surprise that The Lunchbox was a big winner at the 59th Annual Filmfare Awards, the flick has been bringing home awards since it’s release! It made a major splash on the world cinema scene at the Cannes Film Festival last year and went on to wow audiences at festivals in Telluride, Toronto, and also London where it was nominated for Best Film. The film is written and directed by Ritesh Batra and stars Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Sony Pictures Classics releases The LunchBox in U.S. theaters on February 28 in New York and Los Angeles. In March, it will release in additional major cities nationwide.
